@Rocker Dan: I love the ones in your first picture and have an eye on them for a while (Jocker Machine - Beer Schooner Mirror). However, I have not been able to find them in all chrome. Yours look fantastic with the pc bars and the white grips - lov'em!
@jreichart: I like the Arlen Ness too. How is the functionality, too small or do they do the job?
They are convex glass, so the view is just fine. Like with any mirror, takes a couple rides to get used to them, but I think they're better than most I've had. Ran the Kuryakyn skull mirrors for a bit, they sucked! Plastic housings and flat glass, vibrated like all hell. The ness are all aluminum and are pretty stable.
I had the HD Tribals on the bottom when I first put on my apes. But I couldn't adjust them enough to see behind me. One was pointing too low. I could have adjusted the hand controls to compensate, but then I felt like I was having to curl my hand around the bars to use the levers and that was uncomfortable. So I bought the Joker Machine mirrors because they can adjust pretty much any direction you need. Much better.
I keep mine right-side-up (stock) with 16" apes...tried the flipped method and it looked cooler, but wasn't practical with the way my arms hang. I'd rather be able to see, but I may do some more experimenting. I think the mirrors up high give more effect to the high ape hangers anyway.
Now that they're "up where they belong", I just plain like the big panoramic rear view the OEM mirrors give. As to the quick and dirty trim ? Well, I just plain like that too. I can always change em and not be out much .
Lick's 3" oval, flipped up-side down, left side only. I sanded off a little of the powder coat and polished the mirror mount and part of the stem for a personal touch.
