Default Removing steering bearing cups from Deuce

I desperately need ideas as to how to get cups out of the frame neck. The problem is on the Deuce (may be the same on others) is the there is no lip maybe 1/16 of inch to get a hold of. I tried to get several chisels punches and such to grip what little lip there is with no luck. I have read on the web where some have welded a bead on the inter part of the cup and they practically dropped out. Not a real option for me I have no welder and with no front wheel on the bike I can’t haul it to a welder. Before I take a dremel to it I was hoping someone on here has a better idea.

Thanks for the info.
I looked at one before and wasn't sure if it was long enough to reach the lip of the cups. I never could find dimensions on it. I assume you Just put it in the neck expand it and then drive it with a hammer. About how long is it from the threaded bar to the flange that would catch the lip on the cups?

I have not got it nearby to give you a size, but believe me it works no problem in a deuce, buy one with confidence.

I am back to square one. The tool ordered is for the race only it will not fit down into the cups. I still need ideas for getting the cups out. It’s going to be in the 50s here this weekend and I hope to get in some garage time.

Default bearing

Well the welder works best but how about a slide hammer with a three finger jaw? Just make sure it will get small enough to fit in the cup. You can usually rent them. I've never actually used them because I have a welder and it's easier but might be worth a try.

I picked up a Jim's Tools neck bearing removal tool off of ebay when I did mine on my Train. It's three different parts that you have to get. These are the parts. Kind of expensive but made short work of mine.
