Harvey520,

did you modify saddle to be further back in order to benefit from the backrest?

I have an 08 Deluxe and I would really like to add the springer grabrail.
My wife has been out a few times with mein the last couple weeks and she is feeling a little skittish without a grab strap. I have been wearing Carhartts and lots of clothesin this weather and she can't get her arms around me.
We do have asissy barand pad.
Does anyone know ifthe grabrail installis do-able with the 08?
Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Looks great. I am doing the same thing with the driver's seat. Waiting for the springer seat rail to arrive and have been searching for the tall pad which is obsolete (there are some around though). My wife needs the sissy bar and pad, but it's quick disconnect. I really like the look of the springer rail on the deluxe seat. Bluerose put the setup on her deluxe when she had it and others have done it. I think it's a great look and I hope it will work out as a backrest when the back is tired.

Do you know if there would be any problem with fitment onto an 08 Deluxe?
I really don't want to trust a parts man's opinion if I have to special order it.
Thanks.

I do not know for sure, but will let you know when it comes in. If not, I'll be disappointed as I really like the look.

Please do let us know.. I have an 08 Deluxe and obtained a Fatboy seat that I know that 07Deluxe put on his 2007 Deluxe w/ no problem - Well.. it appears that placement of the front tongue receptical on the frame changed - and it does not come close to fitting.

I gotta tell ya.. I'm friken bummed that Harley removed the side mounts and it appears fitment also changed for the 08 Deluxe as well.

Looking forward to finding out if the Heritage Springer seat fits.. cuz a this time there are no other options for the 08 Deluxe for solo's at this time and the current Deluxe seat sucks -
It looks like Corbin is working on something... Lepera has nothing to say at this time and Mustang says they should have something by Daytona...

Even if I had the foam cut back on the existing seat -it still wouldn't put me back far enough... POS

i gotta agree with mike , i have an 05 deluxe & have back problems, i bought a used springer seat with rail & tall backrest pad with passenger pillion, best thing i ever did . can now stay in the saddle more & only cost $250, it was used but looks new. I tried just changing just the stock seat rail with the backrest pad on it. you cant get back in the seat far enough (stock seat ). so i switched the seat & what a difference , more comfortable, also it moves you back a couple inches. now all i need is higher bars to componsate the difference. I am looking toinstall the rail only, if that is possible.
I would like to keep the stock 08 Deluxe seat and swap out the grab rail.
That is what I thought Harvey 520 was talking about.
Am I confused?
