H guysi,

My first ride was a brand new 2004 heritage and in 2008 I traded it for a new one. Back in2005 I took a trip from Adelaide South Australia where I live to Melbourne and back, since that trip I justride to work and home. I don't get time to take trips anymore, I'm eitherworkin or sleepin.

I was headin to work two days ago, I baked her out of the shed in neutral asusual, started her up and kick her into first gear and there was a bit of a clunkthat sounded different but I took of anyway. The first set of lights I pulled upat I had trouble tryin to hold her back.

I have adjusted the clutch cable, I removed the clutch inspection cover and madethe adjustment there but I haven’t fixed it.

Before I go spending money on a new clutch I thought I’d ask you guys if youhave any ideas. I’ve misplaced my service manual so I’m flyin blind on that issue. I don't know much about mechanics, I get my info from YouTube.

Would I be wrong to suspect something is amiss with the transmission?

Thanks for any ideas guys.

Welcome to the Forum from Colorado!
Next thing to check would be the ball and ramp system on the other side. You'll have to remove your exhaust, at least the rear pipe to do this. You'll need replacement trans oil as well since you'll lose some.
