You're going for a look similar to the Breakout, or a Rocker modified with a strut-mounted fender? Sounds like a lot of work!
How were you thinking of changing the rake?

The one in your photo is a danged nice looking bike though.

If Motown is your buddy you got a good guy to go to for ideas and opinions. His scoot is awesome. Good luck on the build. What about a springer?

Doesn't J&P sell that tank and fenders just like that or are those custom ones (on the bike you want it to look like.

I'm not going for the exact look, It's just a kinda sorta direction... I'll modify what I need to... I've a tool builder all my life... I have also built other bikes, the threads are on the jockey journal, same name... Motown is my bro, we grew up together, ride together, and he stored his bike in my garage for a couple years. I already have tanks and fenders, already painted... Bought them from Poor Boy Choppers used, but not used. Fresh paint on them, black/black cherry flip flop with red metalflake under neither.. Now, more pictures and stuff!!

So last night it was more tear down... Had to get that front end off of there...

I'm starting to see that this bike was a ticking time bomb, and that bald tire and crash, probably saved my friends life....

The dual brake rotors on the front wheel: Left one had one bolt holding it onto the wheel, and it was loose and about to fall out...

The right one, had three bolts in it, one of which was loose...

The tire was on backwards...

To top all of that the axle nut came off with my fingers, and the pinch bolts on the otherside would have came off with a nut driver....

Front end ready to come off.... Someone mentioned on another board that that front end was old, like 1950's and could be worth some cash... Especially the lightbar.. Anyone know??

Little more to go, and she will be fairly naked!

Can you see the electrical nightmare this bike is? I've already put in my order at work for some waterproof multiwire connectors.. This will be cleaned up in no time... Nice to have an electrical engineering department within a 30 second walk!

I also did a little scrubbing and polishing, just to see how bad stuff is.... Believe it or not, there is a beauty hidden under there!

More to come soon!

Just a little view into my world...

First bike I built, this bike had 3 zip ties holding it together when I got it.. The more I see the pictures, the more I wish I hadn't sold it.

That flashlight shown is an LED tail/brakelight I built out of an old mag light. The skinny end held my documents.

My 78 ironhead that I started, but am putting aside for now for this build.

My daily bike

With the new tunes...

So thats a little peek into my world.... Back to the build!

Probably, no Softail would have come factory with dual discs. But the rotors are period correct.

The lower legs look like FLH, which would explain the dual disc brakes.
