I had Avon Cobra's on my Dyna, you want to talk about grip, OMFG they were sticky, look into the new Cobra Chrome, I would've done them this year but they make an 18 in White Wall.

1 warning on the Avon Cobra Venoms. Great grip, awesome tire. Loved mine but I do pull a trailer behind the bike on long distance trips and by the time I got back from my last trip to Sturgis (approx. 900 mi. each way, hot pavement/weather) the Avon had developed a flat spot from the heat of the road, the weight of the trailer and the long distance highway miles without much leaning into corners. The tire only had a couple thousand miles before the trip but that trip pretty much finished it off. Again... great tire, loved the grip/traction, especially effective in wet riding conditions but they are soft and will wear accordingly, ime.

Can't go wrong with Metzeler ME888s. I've been using them for years, and before that the ME880s. Just awesome tires all around, and a MAJOR improvement over the stock dunlops.

Cheers!

Received a bunch of the parts I ordered, so this weekend I will be diving right in. Progressive monotubes up front (although it will actually be only disassembling the forks, as I will be taking the lowers to get powdercoated silver), Avon heated grips, TSSM/Alarm replacement, changing the chrome Willie G Skull pegs/pedals to the black version. Gonna be a full weekend for this Clam!

Cheers!

A few of this weekend's projects. I won't actually be installing the monotube cartridges because I will be taking the fork lowers to get powdercoated silver.

Not pictured: Avon heated grips, TSSM and alarm modules.

Looking forward to getting started on this stuff... looking even MORE forward to spring and getting out on the road again!

Cheers!

No kidding! The only good part of snow is guilt free down time to work on the bike.

Well I got no pics... but the engine temp sensor has been changed... only to find a P0562 code... A new stator is being installed along with my new Progressive monotubes... Figured what the hell! Why not get it all done on the suspension. The last detail will be to replace the original rubber in the future. Looking for a nice compromise between "sticky" and "mileage"...
With a little luck I might have the bike back tomorrow. Just hope the liquid sunshine will give me a break to get her home!
