Took a ride to a favorite fishing hole on 4 wheels this time! 70 miles to the Walleye run off Lake Erie, 3 cast one fish, gave it to a couple dawn river from me, shed the waders and put the fishing gear away and spent another 100 miles breaking in my winter project,, the touring rig, fully loaded wioth cooler battery food water pop cooking and camping gear and fishing tackle and gear!
Even stopped at a spot where no one was around to have ROOT BEER, Venison summer sausage, cheese and crackers, for lunch, gorgeous day!
Started out with a full tank and 167 miles later, running 70 and 75 mph over half of those miles, some city on the suburbs of Toledo with the remainder spirited riding along the Scenic Maumee River back to within 7 miles of home, I got 35.3 mpg. I think I stick to state highways and keep it around 60 mph 38 mpg should be easy with the full trailer geared for weekly fishing trips.
I'm pretty happy with my winter efforts, just hope they find a way to stop this virus so I can enjoy my U.P. trip to the Porcupine Mountains this August?? All in all a Great day even if I was on 4-WHEELS!

My wife is installing a new compensator on her softail. I have been teaching her how to work and diagnose cars and bikes since we got married. This is her first major project. I am working as guidance and assistance for things to make sure she gets it right the first time. She can turn a wrench quite well.
We removed the original compensator (2008). Bottom right of photo. The new one is presented for the picture and to verify fit.
