Yepper buddy,
.
Left: 69201510 List $56.50, www.surdyke.com $43.04
Right: 61300666 List $70.80, www.surdyke.com $53.72

If you can, get 3 grommets, p/n 12100099; I say "if" cuz Surdyke doesn't find them when searching. You don't need 'em but it'll save you some aggravation getting them off the stock covers. It was a bear but I finally won just shoving 'em out with a flat bladed screwdriver. After being abused like that they still looked like new. Now that I think about it, instead of forcing them out opposite the direction they go in, I could have just pulled them out in the same direction. I'm babbling, you'll see when you look at 'em.

I've got a really good dealer and like to support 'em but a couple of their parts folks are questionable. I could see it coming. Me: "I want to order Heritage Deluxe side covers, I have the part numbers". Them "Those won't work, they're for a Deluxe and you have a Low Rider". It would only go down hill from there, they'd probably say it'd void my warranty or something. So, to avoid that rectal pain (and save a few bucks) I went to Surdyke, it took about a week to get them.

Jeff

She is almost ready:

Dry bag arrived and is mounted to the RickRak and ready to load.
The Long Ride Shield showed up sooner than expected (I was able to shelf the cheep fill in).

Awesome job! Makes me want to rethink getting a touring bike and just getting another softail as a starting point.

Would you have any reason to believe these same covers would not work with a Heritage.....or any 2018 Softail ?

i guess I failed miserably in my attempt at humor. To answer your question, no, they won’t work with any Softtail. The models with an external **** for adjusting the shock preload takes a different right side cover.

Ordered one of these for my Fat Boy. I think it goes well with the military origins of the bike's theme.

Absolutely....they would be different for the bikes with the ****....but should be ok with the heritage!! I hate it when I let good humor go over my head....what did I miss?

Ah, just when I went off on a tangent and babbled on about one of my dealers parts guys. Old pharts tend to go off on tangents every now and then.

Thanks.
I had an Ultra last year but the weight/CG was kicking my butt. I had to have it's seat cut down just to flat foot it.
She will be going on her first long road trip next week and I will have a better idea of the differences in the two bikes/frames.
I have been busy trying to get everything ready, I went with the dry bag & rack system for two reasons.
#1 weight & #2 height.

Windshield trim came in yesterday
