Bamjoop, did you build that exhaust yourself? If not where did you get it?

I saw an old glass reflector at a local cruise-in on a '32 Chevy that had these cool pressed metal wings around it. I figured I'd have a go at maybe making something up that was similar. I had an old hunk of 1/4" aluminum laying around. so, I made a winged design, cut it out, ground on it, sanded and polished it and put in some glass reflectors. And, even though it looks kinda like a muppet that just woke up from a three day bender, I kinda like it.

Very cool! I might do something like that myself, I really like that.

I just took the stock headers, blocked off the crossover and cut the pipes to the same length. then bought some angled cocktail shakers online. I didn't like the angle of the cocktail shakers so I cut them and tig welded them upwards more(42 degrees) to match the bottom angle of the swingarm. Then had the whole system ceramicoated.

If I were to do it again I would buy the straight cocktail shakers and put the angle in the pipe just to extend them more, but I did it in the cocktail shaker so you could rotate them to align them. If the angle is in the pipes and you weld them even 2 degrees off from each other you would notice it at the end of the exhaust.

In total I swapped out my expensive exhaust system for $80 in cheap *** mufflers. But I don't see 100 of these at every bike event.

Well Bamjoop you did an excellent job, I've been looking for something like that for my Cross Bones. Everything I've seen have the pipes spread too far apart.

I installed a nice set of Progressive 422's on my '93 Heritage Classic. Piece of cake but not much room for moving around under there that's for sure.
