I started stripping off the bags and lights on the back. The previous owner used to sit a backpack or a bag right on the fender and I guess it has metal buckles or something and scraped the hell out of the paint just behind the passenger seat. So will be stripping everything off and getting the fender touched up and re-cleared, and then I'll finish my bagger conversion.

All I have to say is that the stock EPA BS map is a f&cking crime. No one should have to ride the stock map.

I didn't do any autotune just using the map downloaded from V&H and it's on an order of magnitude better. Nice throttle response, noticed a different exhaust note, and no decell pop. And I haven't even begun to f&ck with any of the settings yet.

Depending on what you're running it'll probably be hard to beat the V&H map. I know, I tried quite a few times and now I've stayed with the original. No dyno though. Even at that though it doesn't get you much more from what I've heard.

Didn't do anything with the Softail today. Just a change in plans.

I was scheduled to have new tires installed last Tuesday. It was raining on Tuesday. Looked at the forecast later in the week and on Tuesday, Saturday, today, was only a 10% chance of rain.

Today, that chance of rain is 40%. Might as well make it 100% because it is raining right now. So, called and rescheduled for next Saturday with a forecast of.... rain.

Actually, here in Texas I'd rather have the rain than the rubber. The water is good for the trees before they go dormant. Besides, the tires aren't bald. They are at 3/32" tread depth.

So, I'll just knock some items off the honey do list today.

I have a 2010 Deluxe with V&H Straightshots and a S&S teardrop AC. I bought it last year with 1900 miles on it and it had the pipes and a high flow AC on it so I don't know if it was tuned/dyno'd. I'm thinking that it was not tuned as it ran pretty lean.

Primary chain adjusted. Reinstalled primary cover. Filled. Fork oil draining as I type. Man that old fork oil had some black stuff in it when it first started draining. I'm thinking maybe I should flush them out with something before adding new fork oil. Was thinking some kerosene / work them up & down a few times, then drain.... but not sure that would be wise for seals. May just do that with some cheap old trani oil I got sitting around.
