This is my 02 SS. Just replaced the seat with a Danny Gray buttcrack. Also added the smooth fender struts and Custom Dynamics license plate bolt LED turn signals.

My front axle covers are more like a dome than a spike. If you rub one it will bite but not too bad. I know what you mean about the spikes, I had them and got bit more than once.

Starter went out on 9/20, ordered the parts and they should be here Monday. I got started on the tear down today. Oil tank is out (actually still attached by the drain hose), the primary cover is off, and while I was there... I adjusted the clutch and adjusted the primary chain.

I can't wait to get it back on the road, but I also now see that my front end is loose. That would explain my earlier complaint about it dancing around on certain sections of road. I have a service manual on the way too so hopefully that procedure will be detailed in the book.
