Tried selling my 07 custom, but had no luck, unless i wanted to give it away. So last year it sat in the corner of the garage, while rode the night train and street glide. When the insurance came do this year, i said f%ck it, ill ride the custom this year and park the train.

Well i thought, i might just as well put some money into the custom, that i will never get back.

Got the the bike back today, with a new american elite rear tire, progressive 422 shocks ( lowered an inch ), andrews 48H cams , Dyna jet tune, S&S quickie pushrods, Comp. lifters, timken cam bearings and had the brake fluids flushed.

I had cammed the night train with S&S 583's, so the stock custom wasn't cutting it.

Had a play around today and made/adapted a blanket carrier.
Used an old leather carrier that I had lying around and added a quick release system taken from an old helmet that I was going to throw out.
Cut down the leather straps to a better length.
Used a hole punch and some leather belt screw in rivets to secure.
Pretty happy with the result

Got the Jackpot riot installed and the FM flash done. Only got around 60 miles on the pipe so far, the damn heat is like riding in an attic.

Really dig the pipe, amazed by how quiet it runs, cruising at 60 and hearing nothing but wind. Whack the throttle and it makes sweet music.

I’m not sure if it’s the way we think or if it’s a sickness. Lol

An hour before my scheduled Dyno appointment (waited like months for my turn) My transmission shifter pawl shaft broke right clean through the splined section of the shaft dead center in the seal where it goes into the tranny… that was a baker shifter pawl shaft. No reason to brake and defiantly not due to improper use or installation.. just a faulty part. So… drain all the brand new fluids that were put in new the night before for the dyno pull, take out battery, exhaust, oil tank, primary, primary drive, clutch, transmission and then take apart transmission….

I now have the tranny back together, but my knee is giving me fits.. so on hold until a orthopedic doc has a look this coming Tuesday.

I'm the last 3 weeks it's all I could ride.. I made quite a few changes and love the way this old Evo softail goes down the road... I rekindled a great love... Time for an oil change..
