What did you do to Your Softail Today?
I tack welded a couple jam nuts to the inside and then put small 1/4 28 Allen’s through the clutch bracket into the pod. Then I bent the inner bracket that came with the gauge and re-tapped it for a longer one. Bent a chrome fender washer, put the Allen through and tightened it to the existing re-tapped bracket on the gauge.

Truth is I’m not convinced I needed it.. The bike is running smoooth as silk. Plugs look textbook perfect.

I thought the same about my Dyna.. But I still wanted to get wide band for it to confirm my tune.. So between the pipe and Target Tune I spent another $1100 to try and confirm my tuning abilities.. Plugs always looked great but without seeing actual AFR's it hard to really get the most out of your build.. Tunning by AFR's will fine tune what you have and will make a nice difference.. good luck..

Carburetor came off while riding and bike exploded
I was riding home after getting 110 octane and right when I got near my house a large explosion followed by the most smoke you’ve ever seen in your life when I got the bike apart, I noticed one of the two bolts came off of the assembly that holds the carburetor onto the bike, the bolt was in the air breather assembly, but the nut was gone. The carburetor was halfway out of the manifold and then I knew exactly what happened. I guess I’m lucky I didn’t get like a flame ball or something.
Anybody else ever experienced anything like this?
Thanks for reading, ride hard

Back in 1984, I had a 1980 FXS w/ SUII Eliminator carb, cam, and straight pipe exhaust.
After allowing a shop to work on it (I forget what they did) I was cruising down a SoCal freeway at 75mph, and the bike started running erratically. I looked down and saw my carb vibrating badly.
When I touched the carb with my right hand, it fell off in my hand and the bike died. I pulled the clutch, coasted, and I shoved the carb back in place. I pinned the carb in place with my knee, and bump started the bike again.
I road that way for a couple miles until I could get off the freeway and reattach the carb. The mounting bolts were very loose on the manifold clamps. Luckily, mine never backfired...
In the Shovel head days, I always had a tool kit in my saddle bag....

Installed TackForm phone holder. One of the few I could find in chrome all metal construction made to fit 1.5” handlebars. Price was right and holds phone very well. Family owed American business too. As you can see below I’m very happy with the purchase.
