What did you do to Your Softail Today?
As I said I took a picture. As some think this means post here it is.
In my defence I'm getting older and with wisdom stupidity seems to follow.
Anyway cause I parked it out side for the picture I couldn't ignore it needs a polish. So now I polish.
Deluxe with sidecar.

Probably not a biggie for many of you that are far more experienced than I am and was. But a biggie for me.
I finally got all my fuel system maintenance work done. Cleaned the liner out of the tank. New OEM lines and tank QD, new pump inlet screen, and new fuel filter. I used clamps and I safety wired the connection points. New top plate gasket and a dab of Hylamar sealant on the 12 screws. I also put a fiberglass loom protector sleeve over the line from the tank fitting to the pressure relief so that it will never wear through if it rubs on the tank. All went together pretty easily and it really was not a bad job at all. Also took the ignition switch all apart and cleaned it. The time came to try it - Turned everything on a couple of times to listen and prime. Cranked it over for maybe 5ish seconds, turned the ignition off - got kind of a Chuff out of it- Tried again - Vuroom - she fired right up. Figure she had to get fuel all through the system. Tried it a couple more times to just make sure all was cool. She fires up nice and fast. No leaks on any of the fuel or the cam tensioner work I did. All is, as they say - Super Copasetic! Good feeling!
Would not let it scare me away for an older bike. Basic maintenance items and really a great learning experience for me!
Now when it warms up a bit this week, off she will go. Then, all the oils will get changed.
My old Dinosaur - Should be good for another 20+ years.

unboxed and started to see what my next possible mod might become...
For me, the Softail BOBTAIL fender has always been my favorite looking rear sections, especially with the 200mm rear tire. so i sourced a fender from a later year night train (which is also my favorite softail model).

What exactly is the issue Capt? I hate to say it out loud but I have not, you're actually the only one I've heard this happen too. What has Prog had to say about it?
