Removed / installed new shifter arm bushings because I finally had enough of the slop. Put new bearings in the rear wheel hub, retrued the wheel and refitted the tyre. Adjusted the steering head bearing and then I checked / reset the points timing and took it for a little test ride.

Default Rainy day upgrade

I was out in the rain installing my engine guard in a Harley parking lot... 2016 Softail Slim S. I like the engine guard more than I expected to. Installed it in case the ol' lady drops the bike while learning to ride.

The black guard looks good. The bike won't really be protected from drops until you add a rear guard as well, though.

If you mean the coin, I don’t know my pop’s always carried it as is tradition and when he died I kept it.

If you mean the points cover I did it myself. Wasn’t too hard at all.

Not embarrassed to say I've laid mine down a couple times making stupid mistakes, more so when I made the transition from my Super Glide to my Heritage, the heavier front end threw me off a bit and took a few rides to get used to. Laying the bike down on a slow roll, heavy front brake in a parking lot maneuver will certainly scuff the engine guard but won't cause severe damage anywhere else. BUT......you slam a pint of Fireball, and 4 Greater Good Pulp Daddy's on an empty stomach, be prepared because then you'll see damage, ask me how I know.

Many years ago I did the same exact thing. 3 mph parking lot maneuver and tapped the front brake a little too hard.. My ol Lady hurt her knee.. I felt both, real stupid but more sorry for her..

Yep, way too easy to do. Having the guards not only protects the bike, but limits how far the bike has to be lifted afterwards.
