What did you do to Your Softail Today?
Started mocking up new parts. Bought spoke rims and a Fatboy seat. The rim offset up front is off and the bearings are 1”. So I bought a 6” section of 3/4 in spacer stock and new front and rear wheel bearing kits. Ordered 36” wide beach bars and the progressive drop in lowering kit for the front will lower it an inch at first. See how that sets. Putting in a heavy oil too. I bought a Heritage front fender but wasn’t paying attention. It’s for an 18 and newer. So back on the hunt for a front fender. The bike has 2 new Dunlop AE tires. So I’ll flip them onto the spoke rims. Want white walls. But I can wait. Want to get this mostly done before I’m down with the hip surgery. Pics to follow.
Fedex are usually quite quick delivering down here, a little expensive but reliable. Since the plague most transport companies are struggling with so much being bought on line.
Cheers
Muskrat,
Here - around us, they are atrocious, rarely deliver when they say they will and often will have stuff on their trucks but just don't deliver for whatever reason. Anyway, the good news is we had a "contractor fedex" person today and she did deliver the screen which I spent most of the afternoon putting on and have only just finished. Tine to take the bike for a test ride as I have gone from a Tall (21") Wide, Clear screen to a Shorter (15") Slim, Black Screen. Pics to follow upon my return

Okay, so what did I do to my bike today - aside from getting VERY frustrated with the **** instructions that come with the MS Screens, I got the MS Trigger Lock stuff and new Screen installed:
Okay - so, I have to tell you that the Instructions were **** full - thank god for a few pics and common sense. What should have been a straight forward and quick job took all afternoon. None the less, with the help of my wife, I got it all together and took her for a ride AND I don't like it at all - far too small for me. Therefore, I am about to order an 18" FAT Gray Screen to fit the Trigger Lock Kit I have and see how that goes.
In short, I like how it all goes together and the ease of changing things out, just don't like the darkness or size of the screen.

The saga continues with the latest upgrade project(s). The spacers have been sorted for the front wheel but the front axle has been identified to need maching.
The PM front brake switch was not playing well, after trying all manner of things to get it to work it was discovered it was reverse polarity so another switch has been ordered.
It's getting really close, bit I can see why some projects take so long.

Fedex has been real good where I'm at. Sometimes the seller will have a Fedex account and register the package for shipping online but not ship for a couple days. Not Fedex's fault there.
