I fussed over all the things that I'm going to fix that aren't broken.

Default Mikuni + Big Sucker

Installed a Mikuni 42mm carb and the Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Both tucked away nicely behind my existing air cleaner cover.

I ordered a Heartland fender kit today. Now I am looking at a relocation for my license plate. I am offshore at the moment. Can one of you tell me the OD of the swing arm for a 2007 Softail. I need to know what size clamp to order for a license plate bracket. Thanks

Rode it. About 400 miles on it in the last few weeks since I got it. Not bad considering so far in its life it’s only hit at best 850 miles a year. Needs bars. And a seat. And 33” fishtails and spokes. And an FL front fender and ……

I rent a 10 x 20 space for my workshop. It's a little crowded but I make it work. I have a compressor and other items along one wall and roller tool boxes on the opposite wall. In between, I have my table lift and then my Deluxe. I was in the process of building a work table while it was raining and decided I should move my bike over a few inches so I have more room to work. So I did.

I put the kickstand down and dismounted my bike with my hand still on the clutch side of the handlebars and then I heard a "tink" and the next thing I knew I was pinned against my tool boxes with my bike laying on top of me. Trying to push a 725 lb bike off you is not an easy task from that position and then stand it up but I may have had some adrenaline pumping or I'm just a badass I'm not sure.
After a little blood-letting and a large bruise on my leg, I am happy to report my bike didn't sustain a scratch or dent. Turns out my body is a great cushion. The moral to the story is "make sure your kickstand is down properly dummy"

I know your pain. I was practicing slow speed turning and got a little too heavy on the brake, didn't get on the clutch fast enough and started over.
it was like a 3 minute lay down as I stuggled with not having the right leverage.
Like you adrenalin got it back up, bike was fine, my ego, heavily brusied LOL.
Glad you didn't get hurt badly.

I’ve been in a similar situation and your quote rings true.
