Have been busy getting my fenders sorted which has included:
Finding some Run/Stop/Turn Signals I liked
Solving the plate mount issue (wanting to have a completely clean fender)
Getting the fenders primed
Wiring everything with Deutsch so I can easily break everything down for mock up, paint etc.

Still waiting on my tank which we are modifying so I might look at a vinyl wrap while the bike has odd coloured tins.

G'day Cat Salty.
Know what you mean.
Last ride across the Hay Plain NSW AU at night the bugs were that thick every frontal area (even the front edge of the disc) had 1/8" of dead bugs. Had to stop every 5 miles to clear the headlight. Didn't have time to wash her so every time I fired her up she smelt like road kill!!!
Cheers

Actually yesterday... got 30K service and had to replace rear tire with less than 13K miles on it.
Evidently the Dunlop D401 just wasn't made to last. Replaced with Michelin Commander II and
hope to see better mileage... time will tell.

I finally got my Heritage Classic out of the shop and today I went and rode it about 200 miles and made it home before it got too hot. I will also be doing a 3 hole oil change and replacing the plug wires later this afternoon.

I'm a bit surprised you found a Commander-II since the Commander III is out. You might want to verify
that you have a 'current' tire via the 4 digit manufacture date code on the sidewall of the tire.

I have a Commander-III and so far it seems like it will out-last the Commander-II that it replaced...

hth,

T.

Thanks! I'll have to check that out. I was just glad they had one at the shop!
Get parts shipped these days can take a long time. The new primary sprocket
did not get here in time for the 30K service.

I run the commander II on the front and love they way it handles.. Don't feel the "Tar Snake" like some tires do.. The Dunlop D401F is terrible..

I had a rear Commander II put on last year with the date of 4020. Just a few weeks ago I had a new Commander II put on the front with a date code of 2521. They're out there.
