Been putting some miles on her. Getting used to the forward controls. First bike I ever had with them! Also been playing with my Powervision getting rid of the decel pop. Little more fine tuning and she'll be good. Getting her all ready for a club ride at the end of the month. I'll be glad to get some real time in the saddle!
The rubber vibration dampeners on the underside of my inserts had roached. I bought a new set of rubber dampers.
The license plate will go on the top side of the insert with stainless bolts sitting on fender washers going down through the dampers.
Old license plates were embossed at the letters and numbers then the whole plate was painted with grainy reflective paint. That made them a logical choice for non-skid footing....and they look funky.
New license plates are so thin that they can be crafted with a pair of tin snips and a hand drill
They are not embossed at the letters though.
I had a pair of Texas plates with the Roman numerals for 1911 on them....dig?
I'll probably ride over to Home Depot to pickup the stainless hardware....bitchin

Gave her a much needed bath. Now she's good to go for the rest of the season!
I also increased the size of the spacer under the headlight mount from what I thought was 3/4", but was really only 5/8", to 1". With the 5/8" spacer, and Springer headlight mount, I got a lot more projection down the road than with the stock setup. The 1" spacer should give me even more.
Looking forward to testing it at night. Supposed to rain tonight, and the next few days, so probably not for a day or two.
Cheers!
