Well that sucks Capt, lil damage to the bike but your well is all that matters brother. Unfortunate events like this is the main reason I don't adventure out on big group rides, runs or charity events, we've had our share of take downs in my little state so I just stay away.
Not today but Saturday put 100+ miles doing a poker run. Unfortunately, I also got rear-ended by another bike...
I've straightened out the metal bracket inside the saddle bag and patched up the turn signal the best I can.
I have a couple of leads on leather repair as the lid is damn near completely off.

That sucks, my wife rear ended me once. Trouble is we were 1200 miles from home and I had a LOT more damage.
On the plus side, this is a good opportunity to get a narrow turn signal bar.

I really would love to have them closer together.
Update: Just located one that fits at Dennis Kirk! Thanks again for the lead!

New tire day. Twas very due!
I thought I had chased down the right turn signal not functioning problem. With the rear wheel off, I accessed the TSSM and its connector, and tested to see if the signal from the turn signal switch was getting to it. It was. Then I tested the output from the TSSM, it was all over the place, but the TSSM is new... so, I figured I must have gotten a bad TSSM, and I put everything back together. Then for ***** and giggles, i tried the right turn signal. It WORKED!! So, I thought there must have been a loose connection, and I must have fixed it. I tested the turn signal numerous times, and it worked every time... until I actually started her up. After that, it was intermittent, so I'm back to thinking I have a dodgy TSSM. I kept my old one, so I'm going to swap it in, and see what's what. Looking back, I may have replaced the TSSM for no reason, since the weird speedo behaviour (where I'll be riding on the highway after a few hours, hit a turn signal for lane change, and the speedo needle does a sweep, and all the warning lights light up, then the speedo comes back with the correctspoeed, but the odometer is counting up at least 3 times too fast) has happened again with the new one, and now I have this turn signal problem... I HATE electrical gremlins!
Wish me luck.
Cheers!

How’s living in Niceville these days? A hundred years ago (seems like it) I was stationed at Eglin.

Moved to Atlanta in 1981 to a) prove I could leave home town(?) & b) take a good job I thought I'd stay at for 3 to 5 years...
14 years later, I finally got early "parole" and moved back to Florida as a telecommuter.
Since I'm a biker and a boater, this is a great place to retire to!
