Not today, but yesterday, I replaced the dash cover nameplate and installed a new horn on my Heritage. Getting the old adhesive off was a bear using goof off. It took a couple of hours but I finally got it off. I replaced the horn with the Harley loud horn because the old one sounded like a weak fart. That job was a piece of cake compared to removing the adhesive from the dash.

 

The one on my RK had what looked like belt buckle knicks on it. I replaced. That adhesive is REALLY on there...

Took my rear wheel to a local bike shop to get the bearings pulled. 😎

 

Finally got the exhaust parts I ordered last week.
Need to reroute the rear pipe. Can't wait to pull out the TIG again.

bought a 2001 FXSTS two and a half weeks ago and went in and got title transfered and registered a week ago!! had to make a apointment and go through all of the covid BS to get in the building, so today I get the license plate and registration card in the mail.
so this evening I install the plate and put my signature on the registration card and put it in the saddle bag for safe keeping and look down at the plate and the tag says expires 3-21 WTF!!! check the card and sure enough expires 3-21 you got to be f---ing kidding me!!
so I am expecting those blood suckers at the DMV are going to want another fifty bucks and another years licensing!!! if that is the case I am going to loose my **** on them!!!!
its not just about the money but the crap I had to go through a week ago to get the paperwork done!!! WTF is wrong with the DOT to even think this is acceptable!!
I am normaly a pretty easy going dude but that's out the window tomarrow for sure!!!

 

Wasted a few hours chasing electrical gremlins. I completely rewired the Avon grips, but they're still not working, so tomorrow, I'm gonna call them, and see if they have any advice.

I am getting a signal from the right turn signal switch, to the connector just behind the steering neck, so that means it's either the wire leading from the connector to the TSSM, or it could be the wires leading from the TSSM to the signals themselves, or the new TSSM is defective. I'll need to get to the connector on the TSSM, and run some tests. That's for another day. I've been having problems with the right turn signal for a while, now, so I'm guessing it's a bad wire. By the time I got to that point, I was fed up with wasting a nice day, so I jumped on Reaper and hit the road for a few hours. Made all the earlier bullshit melt away! Aside form these 2 problems, she's running awesomely, and the handling is another level!
