Default Breakout Rear Tire Wear

Only 3K miles and 80 percent wore out already. I always check for proper pressure, use front breaks a lot, no burn outs etc...

Wear is mainly in center, so I think I need to go to 38lb instead of recommended 42?

Anyone else have any ideas or experience like this?

Mine is not wearing that bad and I have like 4500 miles. I also run it more like 33-35 psi though. I don't see any reason for pressure so high.

My stock Harley 240 lasted only 3000 on my rocker. The avons I put on lasted 6000. No burnouts but lots of riding on some rough textured eds here in ny

~3800 miles on mine and they are wearing pretty low already in the center. But I'm in S Texas where there are very few twisties... I run mine at 34psi.

did U check it with a gauge or just look at it.???

tire wear is directly related to riding conditions. Some more -- some less.

Us rocker folks are experiencing similar results...I get about 7-8 k miles out of a rear tire, no matter what brand. To me, I get about the same mileage and ride out of a dunlop, as I do metzler, so I run the dunlops since they are almost half the cost of the metz.
CAUTION - I tried a VRUBBER rear tire, looked good and priced right...BUT delaminated on me with half the tread left...very scary...when we looked closer, the tire had voids in the rubber and floating pieces of cord in the rubber...delaminated section was 6"x12"...
