This is the first time I'm going to change my battery in my hog since I had it....when I owned sport bikes,I would just go to my local auto store and pick up one.....when you guys changed yours out....did you go back to the hog shop or did you just pick up one from somewhere else......thanks in advance.

You might have problems with the terminals matching up to your wires with an aftermarket battery.. (different spaceing, inset terminals...etc..)
and Never try to Jimmi Rig them LOL
I'd stick with an HD battery if I were you or me or my grampa.

I am not a big fan of most GenUwine Harley parts... but their batteries are about as good as you can get, and they are not too over priced. Buy it at the parts counter and swap it yourself. I am sure the labor rate would be at least an Hour... $50 labor for a battery swap.... I think not........

Last time, I took my old battery to Advance Auto Parts and got a new one. You need the dead battery for a core deposit or you will be charged for the core, and the old one helps to ensure the new battery will match up. Any major auto parts store is good, but if the H-D dealer is closest, I would go there.
