Question 2017 BO Stage 4

2017 BO with stage 4 tyre shredder kit fitted. So, after 2 years the oem bat is no go, even with bat tender, never flat. Anyhow, need a new bat with ***** of steel, lithium? Lead acid? AGM? I’m not in a cold place (France) occasional ride in freezing weather, but always sleeps in a garage with bat tender. Recommend a battery?

cheers

steve

There are a few on the market that fit straight on.
Personally I preferred the one I have fitted, but it did need a slight adaptation but was worth the effort.
I would say find one you like the look of which will not be too difficult to alter and go with that, there are plenty to be had.

I do find it quite remarkable that the paint is coming off of your 2018 already, is it the one with the Milwaukee 8?.

I have a 480cca Lithium, Its the Deltron Battery Tender brand, have had it in for a year and I love it. Fires the bike right up every time even after sitting for a few weeks off of the tender. It is so much lighter and a little smaller too, so you have more space in your battery box to add other goodies. You need a battery tender that is made to handle Lithium batteries if you wish to use one. If you ride your bike at least once a month, you don't need one though, as they hold charge much longer than standard battery. I also run a stereo, heated jacket and gloves sometimes, LED accent lighting & an FP3, tuner on the bike, and have the factory alarm on all the time and the extra draw on the battery from these has no impact at all.

I like lithium, they're powerful, much lighter (up to 80%), and last up to 2x as long as lead/acid batteries. I researched and compared a lot of lithium iron phosphate batteries, and went with Shorai.
I use the LFX 36L3-BS12 in both my bikes. It only weighs 4lbs, has 540CCA, and a 36 A/h rating, (which is much higher than most). The Shorai LFX batteries also operate at a higher voltage range then most litho's, and maintain a higher voltage level during cranking, so the bikes start very quickly!! Shorai has also been around since 2010 and has a very good reputation...

Here's it is in my BO...It's a little smaller then the lead/acid battery I replaced, and comes with foam spacers to fill the gaps...it's also over 12lbs.lighter!!

Sorry, I get a bit mixed up with different posts on the same thread and I'm not very good on following big forums like this one.

Mine is also oval
