Default 2016 Breakout

I've just joined the Breakout community. Always wanted one, and found a 2016 with some good mods already.

Nice bike. Bars and wheels look good. Do you know what brand the license plate holder is?

Planning any mods bro ?

If the previous owner hasn't already been into the front forks, I'd humbly suggest you start here:

FXSB Breakout Upgrade DIY: Fork Suspension / Tires / Brake -Part numbers, tools, tips

Thing is, the pre-18 BO's aren't cornering kings on the best of days owing to their beautifully long wheelbase. Fair enough. Still the less than optimal cornering characteristics of our rides don't need the extra challenges brought on by a sloppy front end.

Ride your BO as is for awhile. You'll no doubt be quite satisfied with it. Then do the mods as described in the above link,,,, WOW !!

To the mods described in the above link, I would add the suggestion that you install a fork brace too. Only one outfit makes one that fits the BO, (as far as I know), Superbrace. BO forks flex. Its something you probably won't notice until you stop the flexing but when you do,,, WOW again.

Again bro, congrats on a spectacular purchase with which you'll be totally happy I'm sure. I just wanted to toss out, as a suggestion, a modification I've done which IMHO made the best even better.

Some mods I want to do is Performance Machine 2" extension forward controls, get the black version of my air cleaner, powder coat the console gloss black (the chrome part). A windshield for longer trips but I wouldn't say that's a mod. A long term goal is to put the SE 110ci upgrade and or cam.

The license plates bracket is from a company called Chop Z. They sell lighted and just the license plate mount. Mine had the lighted, which are not bright at all. They were really really dim; like dangerous. I had the shop put the factory lights back, but I like the mount itself.

HKMark23, I like your headlight and Highway bar. Which headlight is that? Does it have a brighter bulb than stock? Does your feet get crowded by the highway bar while cruising, or plenty room for your feet? I cruise with my heel on the peg not the middle of my foot.

I installed the lights back in 2014. They are from the HD Dealer and contain HD's Daymaker lamps. Sorry I haven't got part no's etc but for what they charge for the bastards I'm sure your HD Dealer will be delighted to help you find what you'd need. Otherwise, you'll be better off getting a competitively priced LED lamp somewhere then finding a teardrop housing that fits it. Thats what I'd suggest.

The bars are Linbar 111-1's. no they don't interfere at all. I wear size 10 boots fwiw. This, (unfortunately) is the best pic I've got to illustrate clearances but there shouldn't be an issue unless you have super large dogs . The bar opening is at just the right place.

Installing the Linbars takes about 20 min. You do need to drill the threads out of the horn mount at the frame then through bolt, (bolt supplied), everything together at the top. There are already appropriate attachment points for the bottom ends.
