I just thought I'd share my stage 1 set-up in case anyone was looking for ideas or wondering what it would look like.
I went with an Arlen Ness Monster Sucker and Vance & Hines Big Radius.
And as for the bars, I went with the HD Reach bars (longer cables were required)
Oh, and engine guard by Lindby Customs
I think the only other pricey mod I'll do is add new wheels. I'm thinking of going with the Performance Machine Virtue Wheels (Contrast Cut)

If you;re familiar with the older Breakouts you know what my wheels look like. I like them so much more than any others on the newer models. They're clean and simple. Nothing overdone and much easier to clean.
If I ever decide to buy custom wheels for mine, I'll switch out the swingarm and the rear fender so I can fit up to a 280 on the rear. Gotta make my butt look smaller!

I posted these pics in a couple other threads... but I think this is an appropriate tread to share them in AGAIN... lol...
Bike seems to be much more responsive with the 12" bars over the stock straight bar... Its easier on the back as well...
2018 Breakout with 12" bars & 5 Gal tank...
SPEED SAFE, NICK

Also, have you lowered your bike? I;d like to lower mine but am concerned about bottoming out when riding 2-up. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I have to decide on black or chrome. I personally don't like crash/highway bars (see the very unobtrusive Bung King bar on my FXR) but they are a necessary evil, so I'm thinking maybe the black would be less noticeable. I don't know...

Couldn't ask for anything else. Thanks a lot!

I know what you mean. I never thought I would get a crash bar, but I saw this particular one on another Breakout online and liked it.
To be honest, I don’t think this one would be as effective as one of the bigger types of engine guards, but:
1) I like how it looks on my bike
2) I think at least it would save the pricey air filter in the event of a slow-speed tip over
