I leave my FP3 plugged in, it's not mounted to anything, just slid down next to the battery.....

It's just sitting in there, it's definitely not going anywhere once I put the seat back on. I just pushed a few of the other wires out of the way so it sits almost if not totally flush

Thanks for the picture,

That was exactly the place where mine was but I was afraid that the seat would damage the FP3. On my Iron it sits on the front side of the battery, it slides in a open space there as if it were made for it but on the Breakout I was not keen on that place as you did but I will try it out.

Guys, get a smaller battery. Lead/acid batteries were invented before the civil war. There are lots of smaller, lighter and more durable options out there.
