Step 1: order a large pizza with stuffed crust and pepperoni <br/>Step 2: cut your seat pan template

Step 3: put it in the bike and draw holes, hardware and springs

Step 4: wait for the springs and mounting hardware

Would you cut the pan out of plastic, steel or aluminum?

Spring seat is already here 😉 So I will focus on that until then.
I'll post pictures the next days, see what you think...

What seat is that? A spring seat mod is something I've been thinking about too.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. You should start your own thread on this seat mod.

Harley had a sorting mount seat they made for I believe the prostreet breakout. Should work on all models.

Opinions ? You'll get lots I'm sure:

I would have to want that 110B engine very,,, "very" badly in order to pay up for the 2016 CVO. The older CVO's had much more going for em IMHO.

Anyhow, if you've gotten it down to a 2017 FXSB vs a 2016 CVO, I'd go with the 2017 and jazz it up to my liking which, I guarantee you, would look absolutely nothing like a 2016 CVO.

One factor among many, whose importance to you I don't know is resale value. A CVO is always going to command a higher residual value when it comes time to sell or trade, EVEN IF the non-CVO bike has been upgraded and modded to surpass the CVO in terms of cash spent on it. The importance of this factor will of course vary from person to person.

I know when I bought my own Breakout, I bought the non-CVO version and added the stuffI wanted, via both initial purchase and mods done later. My initial purchase included the non-CVO bike with the Hard Candy Chrome Flake, Turbine wheels & associated other chrome parts, D&D Low Cat exhaust, HD hi-po air cleaner, and a Stage 4 Race kit. Post-purchase, I added a BUNCH of stuff including for example, tune by Mike Lozano, Corbin heated seat, the HD digital speedo with analog tach, much nicer footpegs, oil cooler, Daymaker headlight, Pirelli and Avon tires, 30/70 gearing, etc, etc.

I do recognize that when I decide to sell or trade, I will net proportionately less than if I had bought the CVO, but that is less important to me than having exactly the individualized bike I actually want.

Cut the battery cover out of 1/4 inch plastic as a prototype

Springs will be 3 inch so it should be higher than that

Bought a 2017 Breakout CVO, very happy, didn't want to start with modifications, so I bought the model with most everything already built in..Can't go wrong either way, may be a little more expensive trying to mod up the non CVO to similar specs, which is hard to believe considering how much the CVO costs.. lol

It's not 100% but you get the idea

I only cut one side for know

Any suggestions how to cover the area between the seat and the tank? I thought about wrapping with black heat tape
