Got the same info from my Indie. I live in Minnesota and ride as long as possible. If the snow is not accumulating on the pavement, I ride. He said the Dunlop E3 was way better than the Metz when it gets cold. He told me something about the compound of which the tire was made. Had no idea what he was talking about, but I trust him.

Eagle Ray - I'm running the Metzeler 240, and that's about 2000 miles on it, run 40 psi.

I'm still running the stock tire but almost at 4000 miles so it's time to change it. I have been reading this posts and looks like to most common options are Metz 260 and the Dunlop Elite lll 250, but any suggestion on which one should I go with. I live in Houston, TX so extreme cold will not be an issue but cannot say the same about extreme heat

Thanks!, I actually got the Dunlop Rear Elite 3 250/40VR-18 Blackwall Tire from Denniskirk for 162.88 so will see how it goes. Now time to find a good tech to install, will try to avoid the dealer due to the price...
My front tire is still looking good but may also change is the Dunlop Elite 3 120/70R21 Front Tire a good option??
