today was test ride day for the new cams. I ran a quick wide band auto tune session and bike got dialed right in after a few miles. I LOVE the Target Tune operation, it really works incredibly well to tune VE's and bike even runs excellent with auto tune enabled. Jamie / FM kindly gave me a starting tune file with a very decent timing map for these cams.

I pulled over and took a quick vid of idle sound and rapping the throttle a few times. turn up your volume- this Dog has some bite now! idle rpm is 904, idle spark advance is 14, idle AFR is 13.1, BCT baffles - sorry for the narrow video but the audio is decent.

The improvement is not as dramatic as it was with changing the belt pulleys to 30/70 - but! it gives a boatload more torque. so working together with the belt pulley improvement, it is plain fantastic. you get the grunt of the cams combined with the quick acceleration of the improved final drive ratio. Completely "win / win" combo.

Let's just say that lighting up the rear tire from the light is pretty effortless. lol

If I were going to do it I'd get the Feuling cam plate and oil pump combo. they are designed to work together very well to improve oiling throughout the engine. the Feuling cam support plate does a lot more than just support the cams, it has overall better oil flow.

I'm thinking the SE one offers the same improvement also. S&S has a good looking one too. Bike sounds Good!

thanks bud- pretty happy with it so far. and my ET's are actually lower by 50 degrees! benefits of a later closing cam and less timing advance needed..

here's a decent write up on the Feuling combo- have a read and do some comparison to the SE, at least you'll know the similarities and differences. Feuling makes some very good stuff. http://www.baggersmag.com/twin-cam-o...em-basics-tech

also usually some good deals on Amazon or ebay- AFAIK it is the strongest plate on the market.

Sounds good dog! Now you see why I'm into my 4th rear tire. Way more fun factor.

Default ME 260 rear tire wear pattern

Just a quick note for those of you interested in exchanging the crappy stock rear tire for a 260 Metzeler.

Here are some pics of my rear tire after appr. 1500 mls. Note the evenly spread wear pattern....all w/o scraping pegs....

^^ You are having way too much fun EagleRay :P - Tire looks great. I think you can cut that chicken strip line down another 10mm on the sides...

Lol, yep you're right! I guess there's still a bit left to go if I really wanted to push it
