Metzler ME 880 260 here, too. Great tire....handles fantastic and wears much more evenly than the stocker.

Plus here in good ol' Germany it's currently the only 260 tire that has a technical clearance/homologation to be used on the Breakout. There are other tires like the Pirelli Night Dragon but they might not have a model clearance for the Breakout....

Default Alert follow-up on front wheel bearing

A short time ago, I posted that my local dealer had replaced my front wheel bearings under warranty when the mechanic noticed that they were not in good shape, while he was checking the balance on my front wheel, with just 7000 miles on the odometer.

The service advisor said that a number of bikes have been found to exhibit this front bearing problem, and the speculation is that it is either a bearing quality problem from the factory, or a bad installation of the bearing at the factory.

Well, it turns out that the impact of this replacement has been way bigger than I expected.

I had not noticed any adverse effects with the bad bearings - no unusual sounds or vibration.

But, on the few rides since the dealership replaced the bearings, I have detected a noticeable improvement in smoooooothness. Really noticeable.

You might have your dealer check your next time you need tire balancing or tire replacement.

Looking to throw an LED headlight on. On my Sportster, I just went Daymaker and had the two Daymaker aux lights also installed. What I'd like to do with my Breakout is mount a 7" LED on there instead of the 5 3/4". Any idea for hardware on this?

Good luck, 24v, thanks for everything.
