Thanks brother- Nah it was actually pretty easy. the 3M 1080 stuff is quite easy to work with and will not leave air bubbles due to micro-perforations.
All you need is some windex and lint-free microfiber cloths to clean the surface before applying, a heat gun to warm up the vinyl so it wraps around edges cleanly (no wrinkles / creases), then trim off the excess with a razor knife after you wrap underneath. If you screw it up, it pulls off cleanly and leaves no residue.
So all i do is cut a square or rectangle with enough to wrap around the bottom of piece, warm up the vinyl and work it down, wrap under, trim, done. There is a bit of a "feel" to working with vinyl but after you do a few pieces and screw a couple of them up, you get the hang of it pretty quick.
FYI- The cheap vinyl does not work well at all, nor does it react well when warmed up. Only get the 3M stuff, it's also UV stable.
