Default softail deluxe and Screaming Eagle slip-on?

I am the proud owner of an 05 Deluxe that I picked up last week and need to improve the exhaust note. If I elect to go with the Screaming Eagle slip on mufflers will I need to reprogram the EFI? Also, can anyone tell me if these mufflers will give me a more "manly" exhaust note or would I be better of replacing the system?

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I put SE 2's on my standard and they sound super. The service tech told me you dont need to remap with the slipons, you just don't get the performance you would with the air cleaner upgrade.

Unless things have changed they only make SEI's for the Deluxe and they sound same as stock just a different look.

Bigshot Staggerds. When I bought mine in 01/05 I made the mistake of ordering SE's from the cataloag and the parts guy didnt inform me that they wernt SEII"s I found out they didnt make SEII's at that time. Tings might have changed.

After a visit to the local dealer and buying a set of SEII's that we were told fit we discovered the hard way that they do not and upon calling the dealer back another parts guy confirmed that there are no SE slip on's available for the Deluxe as of yet only the standard issue HD slip on's. We will be paying them a visit for returns this morning. I guess a replacement system will be required. Thanks for your help guys.

We finally had a snap of cold weather (at the same time I had some free time), so I now have my SE II slip-on mufflers on the FLSTNI.

The sound is TREMENDOUSLY better than the stock (although I've put up with it for over six months---my two deuce-riding buddies were amazed that I made it this long ). Now, instead of bitta-bitta-bitta when I start her up its BUDDA-budda-budda-budda [sm=happybounce.gif].

The only problem is that it's been almost a steady drizzle since the weekend and I don't know what she sounds like on the open road yet.....[sm=violin.gif]

These aren't "officially" for the Deluxe, but I was able to align the pipe mounts to the bracket easily enough. The slip-ons fit the pipe just fine and the pipe clamp holds it tight. I can't recall what the SE II model number is right off the top of my head, but I can check and repost if anyone is still interested.

Hi,

I'm an Italian guy with a Deluxe.
Could you please tell me the exact number of the SE II you have for your HD??
I cannot find them in Italy, also becaue for the new rules SE stopped the export to Europe for the noise!!!

I will try to buy them in US or another country ( I do not know where, but I will try!!)

Thanks a lot for your help!

Manuel

Hi Man of Steel,

I think that they are 80339-00A, am I right?? I think they are for Fat boy, but they are quite similar and they should fit also on Deluxe....I have found them on e-bay and also on http://www.barnetth-d.com/80339.htm but both ship only in US ....

Please tell me if the number is the same!
Thanks a lot for your help guys!!
