I ran wide whites on my '94 FLSTN for 25 years. I found that the "scrubbing bubbles" foaming bathroom cleaner worked great to keep the whitewalls clean. Just spray on and wipe the dirt and brake dust off. Cheap, too.

That said, I never even considered white walls for my current ride. I never realized how much time I spent cleaning them all those years.

Can't beat them. Magic Eraser does the trick for me.

Default Whitewalls

put whitewalls on my 2023. Looks great and can turn it into a deluxe if you want with ease (once you get all the locktight off the bolts holding the bags. Also I did mine because I have chrome. Might not look as good if you had a blackout bike. As others said it individual preference.

bags on)

Surprisingly, there is a cleaner at the Dollar Store that works great on whitewalls; It's called Awesome. Just spray it on and hose off, almost no rubbing required. It will not harm paint and it is cheap

Funny you should mention that. Awesome is probably one of the best degreasers around. In my first experiment with trying to find an easy way to clean wide whites, I tried a mixture of Awsome and Windex. It worked really well. Then, when I stumbled on to Armorall Wheel and Tire Cleaner, I found that it worked better.
For the record and not wanting to start a tire cleaning debate, I had also tried Magic Eraser and Scrubbing Bubbles.

I've never tried the ArmorAll stuff, the Black Magic WW cleaner with the Magic Eraser is what works for me, we all have our preferences, what works for us, we stick with. Not to mention, you won't find whiter whites then on the Dunlop's.

I am going to put whites on my '22 Heritage but tires are hard to find as the newer bikes use 130 fronts and 150 rears instead of MT 90 fronts and MU85 rears. Can I run the older size tires, MT's and MU's without messing up the ABS sensors ?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, This topic brought back a great memory from years past.

Way back in 1997 I was looking to move up from my first Harley a 1996 Sportster but back in in 97 new Big Twin Harleys were almost impossible to find at the Dealer. I found a independent bike shop that had (2) identical 1997 Heritage Softail, both sitting out front, one had 5 miles and one had 7 miles but one was black with black tires and the other was red with white walls.

My then girl friend ( now wife ) and I walked circles around those bikes for almost an hour trying to decide, both were priced identical. I had been searching over a month and I knew I was riding one of these bikes home but the red or black? White walls or black tires?

Was such a hard decision that I could not make it so I looked at my then Girl Friend, now wife and said You Pick!
She said buy the black one as black always looks best on a Harley so by default we chose black tires that went with the black bike.

I like the white walls now on Classics bikes but I was a young guy in my 20's way back then and shortly after buying the saddle bags came off as I wanted a more stripped down look and never even considered whitewalls again.

Still have the bike and has wonderful memories... I almost had whitewalls.

I have owned whitewalls and white letter on a car and found bleach white tire cleaner worked okay but that old school powder Comet bathroom Cleaner cleaner ( powder not spray ) and a brush then let it sit, the longer the better will bleach that white wall or white letter to a white thats better than new!

Gangster whites on a black Heritage is the way to go. I always hated whitewall on a motorcycle until I bought this one. Now I wouldn't have it any other way! When I envision a classic Harley this is what comes to mind.
