Blackline Tank Console Added To Breakout - Kinda (+ Custom Fender Lights)

dmlogs0, in your pictures it isn't clear if the top plate has been screwed down and torqued or not. Doing so compresses the gasket under it a great deal. If the dealer has merely set the parts into position and declared a "no fit", I'd suggest going forward and torquing the top plate into position. You may see a surprising difference in the fit. The rear end of the console will lower significantly with any lowering at the top plate.
If the pics were taken with the top plate just sitting in place, I think you're good to go.

Tried it again tonight (myself this time) and no luck. Swapped the top plate out without too much struggle and torqued down the screws per the service manual. Still couldn't get the darn console piece to sit right. I tried everything to get it to sit down along the contours of the tank but no luck. Tightening either bolt just made it worse on the other end.
Joe gave me a tip to remove the top plate entirely and see if the console would sit properly with nothing sitting under it. Did that, and again no luck. The thing is so off its ridiculous since--from what I understand--it should just sit pretty well on the tank without having to tighten it down much.
In the end I concluded that the console itself is the culprit. Whether it was like that from the factory or as a result from shipping/chroming I don't know. So I guess my recommendation for those of you that plan on doing the swap AND getting it chromed is...
Test fit first and make sure it sits the way its supposed to...especially before you pay to get it chromed, since I now have a $350 paper weight.

dmlogs0, very sorry to hear that even if it's a real mistery how and when the console has been bent. A couple of days ago I received mine too from Sport Chrome (with about 150 lbs of other chrome parts ) and seeing how well they packed everything is hard to believe that it can have been damaged during shipping. Moreover, as you noticed, the console is a solid part, not so easy to bend and I doubt it can happen during a chrome plating process. At this point IMHO the likeliest hypothesis is a factory flaw.
I bought mine preowned on ebay and had it shipped to SC so I didn't have the chance to make this kinda check but your tip is absolutely correct, trying the console before having it chromed might avoid a similar issue. Next week I'm planning to have mine installed too and I'll keep you posted of any kind of issues I might encounter.
Anyway, still hope the issue is one of those silly things sometimes we don't notice and there are some members here very skilled from a technical point of view, maybe they can find out what's going on. It would be a shame to have the chromed console as a paper weight.

I would wrap that sucker in a towel, put in on a flat piece of wood, and go at it with a rubber mallet. Either that or just try to push down on it with your hands. I would bet you can warp it back into shape this way. If you are not willing to try, ship it to me. I will make it fit for you.
Well, the simple fact that 24V said it too, means that at least was not such a silly idea and, probably, the easiest and fastest way to solve this problem.

When Harley_Charley first got his, before we figured out the top plate issue, we were going to try to bend it a little. The console typically has a slight amount more curve than the tank, and as you tighten the bolts, it pulls it down. It is a pretty solid piece, but should still have enough give to be able to slightly manipulate the curvature.

This thing is quickly becoming the bane of my existence. I rode most of the day yesterday and then filled up and put away.
Came down today and find my console (that I put back on since my Blackline console was warped) is now destroyed from a leak in he top plate. I torqued that hing down in the right order to service manual specs and everything.
I now have no console at all and runny lines in my clear coat down the tank that I don't know whether will come out or not from sitting for ONE DAY.

Sounds like your gasket has a tear in it. The lines in the paint will come out with a good polish I'm sure. I don't see the issue with your console? Is it just separated? If so, when you bolt it back together it should stay. Hard to see the problem with the console from the pics.
Might not be a bad idea to replace the gasket on the top plate and ride it without a console for a few days to be sure it isn't leaking.

So I finally got the console on. I ended up just taking it to a custom shop a town over where he ground it and re-shaped it until it would sit right. Even doing all that he had to add some small risers to get the clearance from the speedometer.
His impression was that I got a bad press from the factory. He didn't think the chroming could have messed it up that bad. So again, my advice...test fit everything before chroming!
