Default Best way to quiet exhaust for inspection?

If anyone has experience with making temp mods to their pipes to pass noise inspection, please let me know what you did and how it worked out.

I'm looking for the fastest and easiest way to temporarily quiet a bike for a noise inspection.

Would help to know your current setup.

Quiet baffles are the most obvious answer.

Setup is bone stock US spec 2007 Night Train with factory pipes. I am at a US military base in Japan and bike must pass Japanese inspection after delivery. I hear the 2006 bikes barely passed the sound test and the 2007 bikes are a little louder.I have also heard stuffing steel wool in the pipes will help, but it might catch fire. I know it sounds crazy trying to make a factory pipe quieter, but any tricks anyone knows for knocking down the sound a few db will be appreciated.

You might try contacting Harley Customer service and explain that to them. They probably have the answer seeing how export to Japan and should know what it takes to pass.
Good luck and THANK YOU for your service to our country.

Factory set-up should be no problem....however years ago the steal wool trick we used to do....had forgotten about that one...thanks for that memory.....we also used to just swap out the aftermarket pipes for the OEM ones than get the sticker than back to the ones we had on...

Putting stock components back on. That's one of the reasons many keep their stock exhaust parts.
