? about H-D Security System - Siren & Pager...
I just had the H-D Smart Security System (41000021A) installed last week.
Now I'd really like to add the Remote Pager as well, the battery powered one (91660-06)
The only problem is, the pager will only work if you ALSO have the optional siren kit installed (68328-06A), which is another $90.
As much as I'd like the pager, I really didn't want the siren, but if I have to I have to.
The service manager tells me that now that the security system is installed and the fobs are married, there is no further programming necessary, that the siren and pager and both plug-n-play.
There's already a space and a plug behind my BCM for the siren, so install should only take a few minutes.
So, does anybody have any experience with this siren - good or bad?
And just how loud is this thing?
I'm still on the fence about whether or not having the pager is worth spending another $90 on something I could have done without...
One thing the service manager did say is that the siren cannot be deactivated...

I was in the same boat, wanted the security system but indifferant about the siren. The dealer recommended just doing both right away because of the configuration between the two so I did. I have no regrets doing the pair together and as others have said the siren is plenty loud, and can be turned off in the settings if wanted. I purchased the rechargable pager later and its worked out great when I felt the need to use it.

Buy it and install it yourself, super EZ! If I were going to do any extensive over night traveling with the bike I would buy the rechargeable pager and leave it plugged in and on each night I was on the road. I have the battery power pager now and it works fine for an occasional out on the road ride. I'll go thru 1, maybe 2 batteries per season.
