Fork mounted wind deflectors

Fork mounted wind deflectors
I recently went from an Ultra to a Heritage and there is a big difference in wind turbulence, especially at highway speeds. Has anyone installed the newer model wind deflector #57400143, and if so, does it help? I had an older version on a Road King years ago, and it didn't help as far as I could tell, and ended up taking it off.
I realize that the wind is going to affect you more on a softail, but I can't even put my legs out on my highway pegs without them being blown off. Thanks in advance for your response.

I installed 'em and I really couldn't feel any difference/improvement other than more engine heat on my legs so I took 'em off...I might use 'em for cold weather riding.
I don't have an issue with bad wind buffeting so I'm ok riding without them.
Other folks said they made a big improvement on their rides...

Yep shields on Softails are notorious for buffeting that comes from under the wind shield, a very known phenomena , on my FX I had an 'ugly contraption' thread for a temp solution that proved to be very effective, I am going to clean it up during the winter.
Many has reported that the lowers fixed it.
Also some reported the use of KlockWerks flared shields had a good effect although I can not imagine how.
This is my contraption thread to imitate the lowers with my FX QD.
