New Harley lay back LED taillight.
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...-led-tail-lamp

If you look at the description it does say that it fits the 2012 FLSTF.
But if you click on 2012 fitment it doesn't show the 2012 FLSTF.
So what gives Harley ??????

I'd say it fits. Given the year and model ranges, it seems to be a pretty universal item.

Says right there in the description. That style tail light has been around on many bikes over the years and really has not changed.

Fits '99-later XL (except XL883N, XL1200N, XL1200V, XL1200X and '11-later XL1200C), '99-later Dyna® (except '09 FXDB and FXDWG), '03-later FXST, FXSTS, FXSTB, and FXSTC, '00-later FLST, FLSTF, FLSTSB and FLSTC, and '99-'08 Touring models (except FLHX, FLHTCSE2, FLHRSE3/4, and models equipped with Licenses Plate Relocation Kit P/N 53702-04). Also fits '09-later FLHRC, FLHTC, FLHTCU, FLHTK and FLTRU (except Trike) models.

Yeah, I looked at that link as well and see what you're saying. I still think it will fit.

Could you please tell me why it wouldn't fit a xl1200x. I just ordered a kuryakyn laydown tail light for my 48, even though it says it wont fit. I don't see any difference between the tail light on my bike, and say a 883, which it says it will fit. Is there a different wiring harness maybe?

Canadian spec 48's have this tail light. American spec bikes use the turn signals as run/stop/turn without the traditional tail light. If you do a search on images of US and Canadian spec 48's you'll see the difference.
