RE: Break in period
What is that they do on the "Factory Dyno" before you get it? The Factory Dyno's aren't at the assembly plant. Each engine goes through a pre run inspection that is consistant with most heat cycles that seats rings. They are helping you out. They say the first 50 are the most critical, they take care of that. From experience riding it like you stole it from day one will not hurt your motor, however when you get to 35,000 miles NY is gonna need a top end and you won't. Longevity. He will be the first to complain Harley's are junk because he is out of warranty and needs a top end.

RE: Break in period
That's what I was talking about. I saw a show on the Harley factory where they make the V rods the other night and before they leave a guy rides them on the Dyno. I think he went through all the gears and had it revved up to about 60 mph if I remember right.
When I got my first Harley, a 2000 Wide Glide the Dealer told me the same thing about the first 50 miles, but he also said not to baby it just don't open it up during that first 50 miles.
