Default Changing front tire on softail

I like the softail standard or night train but I would like a little wider tire on the front. What is the largest size I could put on one without having to change forks? I guess I would like to just get a new wheel if possible. thanks
P.S 21" is fine just want a little wider.

Default RE: Changing front tire on softail

Several of us here have switched out their 21" for something a little fatter. I chose a fatboy wheel that has a 16" wheel. Same forks and all. You have to use some spacers and lower the rear end a little to even it out.
