Breakout Sightings??

Breakout Sightings??
I have owned my Breakout since mid March. I bought the first Breakout at my dealer. Since then, I have seen my dealer sell through a lot of Breakouts. But on the road here in NJ, I have only seen one and that guy had just left the H-D dealer. My wife and I took a trip to up state NY last week, we saw two. The first one was parked at the dealer. The owner was picking up some stuff. The second one was a CVO Breakout parked at a national park in Watkins Glen NY. This past Sunday, my wife and I went on a 200 mile day trip and we saw hundreds if not thousands of bikes, but I can't say I saw one Breakout. For a bike that supposedly is selling very well, where are they all at? Oh, while my wife and I were in upstate NY, we visited 3 H-D dealers, none of them had a standard Breakout in stock. The place in Ithaca had one CVO Breakout.
Just odd I thought.

Funny, because just the other day I read a comment here somewhere that said (paraphrasing) that soon all you'll see on the road will be Breakouts & Slims, because of the way they're flying out the door.
I've had a Slim since last fall, and I generally run 50-100 miles a day, every day, weather permitting.
I've yet to see another Slim, and only one Breakout (just last week) out in the wild.

I saw one other one about a month ago - the guy was bringing it in for his 1k service. Other than that, there were a couple CVO's that came through the dealer, those were sold out of area, and one black one at the dealer that was traded out to another for my red one. I've seen none at all on the road - and I like it that way..

If you were on Rt 6, you must have gone up through Coudersport, Wellsboro area? There's some beautiful roads up there..

from a Conspiracy Theorist
It was all a marketing ploy. The MoCo probably didn't produce all that many. Supply and demand. That's why they were able to mark up the price and over charge buyers.
The beginning of June they shut down production and tool up for the next year's models which will start showing up at the end of August. Maybe the MoCo will manufacture more of the 2014 year models than they did the 2013.5 year now that they've seen riders will purchase the Non-CVO Breakout.
'Just a theory............................................ so that's why you haven't seen all that many on the road.
