Default Grinding noise / feel at low speed

Have an 03 FXST with 13,500 miles on it. Have owned it for a little less than a year and put about 3,500 of those miles on it.

When I come to a stop sign / light I feel a grinding noise (feel it more than here it) just prior to coming to a stop for about 2 seconds then it stops about 5 or 10 feet before coming to a complete stop. Does it every time.

I have eliminated the brakes. The only thing I can think of is either primary bearing or tranny bearing. Could it be somothing in the clutch? It's hard to pinpoint where it's actually coming from.

Has anyone experienced this?

Double check your front rotors. Had the same problem and it was caused by warped front rotor. Try stopping with out using the front brake and see if it's still there.

Definitely sounds like something to do with the brakes, try on a clear stretch of road pulling the the clutch in and slowing down to a stop without the brakes and see wether its still there.

I have tried all of these things on the road. When I put the bike on the jack and put it in gear it still does it prior to coming to a stop with no brake pressure, maybe 5-10 mph.

No other idea really then without hearing it, if you have no luck on this forum try going on the Evo forum there's quite a few knowledgable guys on there, one or two are Harley Mechanics.

Hard to tell just from text on here... But

I had a similar grinding noise on my 03(which is a TwinCam, not an evo).. I had a spacer blow up under my comp nut. When I drained the primary fluid big chunks of the metal came out.... A quart of fluid is cheap... Can't hurt to drain it and see if anything is going in there... Fortunately no damage was done to mine...
