Default Just Shortened My Rear Turn Signals For $1.50

So yesterday I decided to remove my rear lights to find a way to get them closer to the fender. Took off the struts, one at a time, and removed the signals. Took apart the plugs for the wiring and pulled them pins/wires out. Then I just fished the wire through all of it, removed the "pedestals" and put it all back together. The $1.50 was for the shorter bolts, and new washers.

There is a gap facing the front, and the individual wires were exposed there, so I slid some heat shrink on there and covered them so they would be black. Then I took a small amount of clear silicone, and filled in the hole in the light that the wiring comes out of.

I think it looks much better now. Here is a few pics.

Not sure about San Diego but here in VA signal lights, like men, need at least 6" to fly. Looks good..

Minimum of 6" between center of the lights. State inspectors pop the Sport bike crew all the time for using their one center tail light signal light setup. My signals have the Harley relocation pedestals, and I saw the inspector taping it. He also puts a mirror behind my air-filter checking hoses. I am sure you fender is wider then 6"

Bummer to live in a commie state. Move to Fla, they don't care if you HAVE lights.

I am with you there. I run the all red lens with the break/signal diode box. All mine light up with brake. Center is LED. Never converted signals since not a lot of room for the big resistors my bike needs. I tried to stay legal. I consider it a street bike. Legal first , show secondary. I also believe in all the hoses were they belong. That's not commie, that's respecting rights of all.
