Redline in all 3 holes
Hey all , as im sure this question has been run through a hundred times , I am just tryin to hammer down the exact type to use
So i have a 2011 fatboy and am tryin to switch over to Redline ( ive heard nothing but good things )
anyway i just need to know what type of fluids ( in redline terms ) I need
I know i need 20W-50 oil but past that ???????
I also see there is V-twin primary fluids available at redline ( or is it better to throw the 20w-50 oil in there too ?
please let me know what the necessary fluids are

I chose to go with the primary fluid, I believe they call it MTL. I figured another qt of 20-50 would cost roughly the same, why not go with the proper fluid? The trans fluid with shockproof is good stuff.

I just looked it up, they're labeled as V-twin primary and V-twin tranny but same fluid as MTL and Heavy w/shockproof. Redlineoil.com

I have 20-50 in the engine, shockproof in the trans, and v-twin in the primary, all Redline.
Shifts very smooth. I had Mobil 1 20-50 v twin in the primary, and I think the clutch slipped under hard accel, and it clanked into gear. Use the v twin Redline in the primary , better clutch and shifting. Tried RP max atf for 200 miles, shifted better than 20-50, but the RL v twin works best for me. 2012 FXDB

I like red line but not in the tranny. I used to use the soundproof till a buddy had a tranny failure and the tranny bearings were packed full of the suspended material...I then checked my bottle in the garage...it has no ratings or certification on it at all, none. It also does not say it will not void your warranty. My mechanic says the soundproof is really for racing not every day use...read your bottle, then decide.

I was talked into trying the Redline shockproof in my tranny last year. I couldn't get that stuff back out of my bike quick enough. Before I even hit the street out of my driveway the tranny whined and it started clicking and clunking with every gear I hit. I know some people swear by it like I swear by Amsoil. I'm just putting another opinion out there.
