Angry I dropped something inside my oil bag!!!

My bike is a 2008 Rocker C. Long story short!! Just did a quick oil change before heading out for a quick ride with my fiancé and I over filled the oil bag. In my infinite wisdom I decided to use a small siringe to draw some of the oil out of the oil bag.

You guessed it, I dropped the damn siringe in the oil tank. I couldn't fish it out (couldn't see it because of the color of the oil) so I had to drain all the brand new oil I had just put in. When I drained the oil I look inside the tank and I can't even see the siringe. My guess is that the siringe floated over to the side of the tank (right on top of the primary) since I had the bike on the kick stand.

I'm trying to brain storm a way to fish this stupid thing out without having to take the oil tank off the bike and turning it upside down to get the siringe out.

Does anyone have any ideas for me??!!?!

I'm so furious at myself for rushing and being so careless.

I know some of you old timers have some tricks up your sleeves. Let me hear them.

One of those 3 pronged snot pickers that is flexible might be worth a try.

i would try one of those retrieval tools for picking up hard to reach items, the kind with the retractable grapples on the end. with a little patience you should be able to fish it out.

QC and threadstopper...... You guys are freaking awesome. In my rage I couldn't think clearly enough to realize what you guys are talking about. Gonna swing by Home Depot tomorrow and see if I can get one of those.

Thanks fellers wish I lived close enough to you guys to buy each of you a couple of beers!

Anyone else out there ? Just in case this tool doesn't work !!?

Thought about the wire hanger but there are so many nook and crannies in that oil bag that I think the coat hanger would be useless.

What have you got to lose by trying it? You just might get it around to where you can see it at least making it easier to get out when you get the picker.

I'd add some oil back, tilt your bike to the right to get the syringe over toward the opening and fish it out with the tool mentioned above.

Next time use her turkey baster.
