AARP card is good for discounts at lots of places...and pagan48 is right about the insurance prices too.

I was using the age line as a crutch to open the conversation about fringe. Fringe has to be an old timers thing, right?

When I first bought my bike there was no way I would have ever had a strand of fringe on it. This forum with all of the information and pictures of bike styles give you a different perspective of what you like or might like to do with your own ride.

I know one thing for sure about this forum is that even though it is free to log onto in sure seems to drain my wallet.

I like fringe, I don't see it that much either. But it's cool as far as I'm concerned, especially when I occasionally see a dresser that's all decked out !
Oh, and yeah, I still call the Harley Ultras Dressers ! and the RG Fuglies...lol.

Love me some good leather work. But thing is, to me anyway, it seems to stand out best in small doses. But if we all felt the same, all our bikes would look the same. And that would suck.

Here's a bag BadGCustoms made me that I dig. Most people think I should have the smaller, wedge shaped bag. But screw it. I like this one!

No fringe. But I'm not you.

Enjoy your ride! Don't let anyone tell you what's "in" and what isn't.

Ha, I turned 50 a few months ago and the AARP stuff started showing up. And like you I throw it right in the trash cause I'm just not that old!!!! Same with the AAA stuff! Might have to face the fact that over the hill time is here! I have just a few "fringe " on my bag lids but can't get into the lever fringe. Just makes me think of my sister and the glittery fringe she had on her bike as a kid.

And as my knees are starting to give out the old lady keeps asking when we are getting a Trike. I keep telling her when it gets to that point we are selling the bikes and going to buy a street rod. We'll see what happens!

If you like the fringe, go with it. I love going to bike shows and seeing everyones different ideas of what a cool bike should look like!

Always liked fringe myself when done tastefully. Was considering it on my Deluxe as it lends to that type on nostalgia.

i told the old lady a few minutes ago"gonna order some fringe covers for the Softail deluxe"..she said "whats the matter, the parents wouldn't but you any red, white and blue ones with the spring for your bike when you was a kid?"
Going to get a 12 inch set anyway, think it will look good with the whitewalls, retro bags etc.......
oh,and by the way,way past 50 !

I've been thinking about a set myself. How do you think they'd look on my scoot?
