Anyone have this "POGO" seat on their softail?
#21
Thanks WKNDS ! I just received my pogo seat set-up in the mail (had to order it from Germany). I've got three questions:
1. Did you just bolt it on top of the ground wires (the two bolts), or did you change the wire location? I'm guessing I need to replace the two bolts with longer ones as well.
2. On the pogo kit itself, do you know what the three screws are for exactly? I'm thinking they are for adjusting the seat angle, but the screws are so short I don't see how it could make much of a difference.
3. Where did you get that great tank bib? My current tank bib is in the way of the kit, so I'm thinking I need to cut it down but then I won't be able to screw it down to the frame...
Sorry for all the questions, but I guess that's what forums are for! Thanks.

I have a picture of it at home. All of my info is at home, so I'll reply when I get off work.
As for the tank bib, its from a Crossbones. I cut it to more closely match with the pogo-mount.
You can look the part number up using RonniesHD Microfiche, or wait until I reply later today.

Here's the the ground I used with the Harley pan cover. Both shown below;
When I switched to the flat pan cover, I had to move everything. The ground-to-frame end
is connected to the frame by horizontal bolt #1 going through the oiltank bracket #16, gromet #9 and spacer #3 in the drawing below.
#2, yes you can make very slight adjustments so that the pin fits exactly/easily in
the center of the ball and then lock it down with jam-nut.
For #3, the Crossbones tank bib is listed as:
71210-08 TRIM PANEL, FUEL TANK (CROSSBONES BRAIDED)
hope this helps,
T.

I used sheet metal that I got from Home Depot.
The tank bib is from Mustang for a Crossbones link---> https://www.jpcycles.com/product/606...plain-tank-bib

Hey WKNDS,
The_Dean is back, I have my pogo seat assembly from VTwin Manufacturing, saddle seat (Corbin Gentry) and solo seat hardware.
I just started my attempt at bolting the assembly to the frame. The last two bolts toward the back screwed in just fine and flush. However, the front larger bolt (the one that usually bolts down the tank) has a significant gap between the tank tab and the assembly, and I can't screw it down without bending the entire assembly. See image for reference.
How did you fix this? Thanks friend.

You can see the gap and barely see the spacer in this side shot of the bracket.
hope this helps,

Thank WKNDS,
So there are four wires in total that need to be grounded to the frame as you know. Did you connect all four wires to the horizontal bolt on the oiltank bracket?
Also, did you end up going with a smaller lithium battery? I'm trying to make a vinyl frame cover (using decorative studs to make it look intentional), but the battery and fuse box are sticking up making it look a bit lumpy. Thinking about moving the ECM close to the battery - it's tight, but I think it will work.
Things alot trickier than I thought. The pogo set-up itself is a breeze, but you really need to cover up the frame - otherwise it looks shitty and it's unsafe. That's the hard part.
Would you mind sharing the dims of the plate you made to cover the frame?

Hey WKNDS,
By dims I mean dimensions of the true flat-frame cover. That's the look I'm trying to go for (thanks to your inspiration), but with a sheet of vinyl that I'm making.
I saw the pictures you provided as well as the diagram which were very helpful, but I wasn't clear if you attached all four ground wires to the oiltank bracket. On your first set-up you attached them to the two rear bolts on the pogo seat mount, but when you went with the flat-frame version did you put them all on the horizontal bolt (#1) on the oiltank?
Thanks for your help.

the shape/fitment that you want....

There are two heavy cables from the negative side of the battery. One to the busbar and one going up to the frame (where oiltank is bolted)
You can not see the busbar in any of the earlier pictures. One reason I only used one heavy cable up to the frame is because I wanted to somewhat hide
the cables so it would give a fairly slim appearance just above the oil tank where there is a slight gap.
good luck,
T.
