I lowered my 02 fatboy 1.5 " and it looked amazing, right before i was hit by a car on it. from my limited expereicen i can say you will be alittle more aware of bumps on the road, not bad but you will sense them more than before, and you cant turn as sharp without dragging. I made two turns around my block before I figured that one out. but it comes down to you and how you ride. I am a daily rider rain or shine so sacrificing some comfort was something I was prepared to do. If you dont ride as frequently or dont mind giving up some comfort then I say go for it
... or buy the shotgun shock and have the best of both worlds. Lower the bike while still riding amazing.
What's up with this talk about freedom, while taking exception to his freedom to comment or express his views?
He has freedom to express his views I am trying to advise him about calling people "fools" and "poseurs" becasue of how they wish to set up there own bike. Then says "Like I give a f**(k..."
"Or do you just want to go on record for being another FOOL that lowers his Softail to look "cool" and forevermore lives with a crappy handling joke bike???"
I like my crappy handling joke bike. Better than rolling around looking like your bike is about to **** a back wheel.
.. yeah, I could see where it might look like that if you were to ride around on an air shock with no air in it...
hell, you could achieve the same look by just removing the stock shocks and be done with it.
think of all the money you could save...

No, I mean when they are stock height. We are on the same team Jam.
I ride maybe lowered an inch but when I park, I slam it. I like getting on and off with it slammed. Plus, I ain't gonna lie, I like playing with it (that's what she said).
Would by lowering your standard or fat boy etc. by one inch be the same height of a Night train? This should give you the same handling and suspension travel as a Night Train correct? Is the Night train springs longer then standard bikes because how do they achieve the loweredness of the Night Train or is the stem just longer?
