i have a 1995 heritage with points fitted my question is that according to the workshop manual domestic models ( i take that to mean american ) ignition timing is 35 degrees btdc where as international models ( i take that to mean other than american ) are 20 degrees btdc, i live in greece. so why the difference when i imagine all harleys are assembled in the states ?

That is a very good question. I'm also curious why there would be a difference in the timing. I can't recall any engine differences between domestic and the export models during that year period.

To identify which model you have, look at the frame number. If it starts with the number (1) it was manufactured for sale within north America. If it starts with the number (5) it was manufactured for export and sale outside of north America.
